Have a wonderful BDay and thank you for your role in getting all the music and video of your dad released. His legacy will stand the test of time. You should be very proud. Enjoy your day!
Christine DiMeglio - 12/14/98 01:33:24
Happy Birthday! I'm so glad to have this opportunity to write to you. I became a big fan of your Dad's back in 1972 when he was making a comeback. I was only 13 and I thought he was the best. I was listening to Bobby Darin records and all my friends wer
listening to whoever was popular at that time (I can't even remember). His records were hard to find but I found a record shop that sold old albums and my Mom would take me and that's how I got my collection.I've listened to his music all these years. (N
w I have my kids listening to it). It was always my dream to see him in person but it was not to be. His passing was a great loss for you and his many fans. I read your book a couple of years ago and I recently read his other biography "Borrowed Time". My
interest in Bobby Darin has never ended. I know you can't answer all these E-Mails but if you can I would appreciate hearing from you. Enjoy your birthday!
Alison Passarelli - 12/14/98 00:05:35
This seems like a good opportunity for me to say thank you for your moving book "Dream Lovers". I picked it up after seeing "Beyond the Song" on public TV and devoured it in one night. The book is quite simply an inspiration. I thank you and your Mother f
r your honesty and your insights. I hope your Mom is - and will be - well and happy for ever! She deserves it. As for your Dad - God rest his soul. There never will be another Bobby Darin.
Happy Birthday to you and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Judy Anderson - 12/13/98 08:36:55
Bobby was the love of my life, my first love, in 1961 when I was 12 and saw Come September. It was also the first year I had a crush on a "real" boy, and Bobby's love songs were there for me in my ups and downs. I saw him perform three times, first at the
Moulin Rouge in Hollywood in around 1962, then, at the Coconut Grove in Hollywood, probably in '63, and last, at the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas, also probably '63. At the Moulin Rouge, the fans were allowed to go backstage after the wonderful show and have t
eir picture made with him. I spoke to him about something I'd read about him in the paper, that he had hurt his finger in a freak accident. He was friendly and warm, he showed me his finger, the scar on it. He was personal. He was so special. I had saved
oney in my piggy bank for our trip to the Flamingo Hotel performance, to tip the maitre d so I could get a good seat. I didn't get a great seat, but after the show, the maitre d told us (me and my parents) to come with him. He took us backstage, and Bobby
had agreed to let us come back and meet him. There were no other fans, just me and my parents. He made small talk with my dad. He was just so warm and approachable. He really liked people, he really cared about people. I feel so lucky that of all the movi
stars and teen idols I could've gotten hung up on, it turned out to be him. Dodd, happy birthday. I remember the day you were born. And thank you for the wonderful book you wrote about your parents. I was deeply moved by it. Wow, this internet/web stuff
Nadine - 12/13/98 03:28:11
Hi, Dodd! Anybody who was born in December has
got to be a great person (my birhtday is this
month, also). My dad died when he was 46, so I
know how it feels to lose a parent so young and
miss making the day to day memories that are
so precious later on. I want to wish you a happy
birthday, Merry Christmas.. and may God bless!
Rich Carvotta - 12/13/98 02:24:52
Hope you have a great birthday Dodd. I "grew up with your dad's music. The tribute to him on PBS was outstanding. May his spirit live on in the hearts of us all forever.

I bought it yesterday and I only put it down to go online to search websites about your dad.
Thanks for sharing and giving all of us Bobby Darin fanatics a great insight. Enough about your dad. You are an excellent writer,I really enjoy your writing style. Well Have a great birthday!!!!
Bob & Sherry Miller - 12/12/98 13:13:38
We loved the tv special about your dad.
Linda Howell - 12/12/98 09:21:16
When everyone else's hero was Elvis & Frankie Avalon, I loved your Fathers Singing & his style. I saw you on PBS and was impressed. Happy Birthday to you and how jealous I am of you, that you had such a great man for inspiration.
Tony Barwan - 12/12/98 07:11:07
I still have your dads LP, "This is Darin." I really DO think he was better than Sinatra.
I do karoke every week and Mack the knife is always done by me or somebody else.
I'm sorry I dont know if you are an artist or not
but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! regardless.
leonard stewart - 12/12/98 06:16:16

Syd Johnson - 12/10/98 21:21:52
Happy Birthday! Your dad IS my favorite star/singer of all times (I'm 59 yrs). There will never be anyone to compare with him. His personality was one to draw his fans to him FOREVER. I miss him. He died on my birthday, one of my saddest birthdays.
y husband and I met him after an Andy Williams show and he was so NICE. We first heard/saw him in Northern CA, singing for home sales (free, in the late 50's---I think). That caused me to buy the first album! I have them all!
Steve Scott - 12/10/98 18:01:16
Happy Birthday! I really enjoyed your dad's documentary on APT. For God so loved the world, that He gave his only son that we might inherit eternal life if we only believe it.
Mary Spooner - 12/10/98 07:05:34
From one December baby to another, I'd like to wish you a very Happy Birthday. I thoroughly
enjoyed the insight you provided on "Beyond The
Song". It was a wonderful tribute special. Happy
Holidays also to you and your family.
Larry Good - 12/10/98 06:08:54
Happy Birthday Dodd! Caught the "Beyond" show tonite and loved it. Your dad did what Sinatra could not: He brought big band swing to teenagers again. As a teen who played swing in 1960, I couldn't believe my ears when Bobby switched to the big band so
nd, and everybody was loving it! I still play swing. Wish I had an arrangement of Beyond the Sea. This show is my first glimpse into his and your life. Are you in music? - Larry
Steven Barry - 12/10/98 04:37:27
A very Happy Birthday to you. As I am writing this
greeting to you Im watching a tribute about your
father "Beyond the Song". I never realized till now the extreme talent of this man, yes I did enjoy and loved him,
but he mastered the entertainment of every level
a melodic voice, acting perhaps he started the moonwalk.
With people as you and your parents in the world,
its a brighter place ...keep the faith
God is with you
Ruth and Andy Cherkola - 12/10/98 02:00:06
When we used to go out dancing every Saturday night, there wasn't a time that we didn't request the song "Mack the Knife". Have a very happy birthday.
karen - 12/09/98 23:50:43
I love your dad. My earliest memory was being in a restaraunt with my parents at the age of 4 and playing Mack the Knife over and over again on the juke box. I had great taste even at that early age. Happy birthday!!
Susan Foust - 12/09/98 19:37:38
Happy Birthday, Mr. Darin. I enjoyed your contribution to "Beyond the Song." What a beautiful tribute. It was fascinating! I'm looking forward to reading your book. Best Wishes!
Margie Preston - 12/09/98 14:21:45
Dec. 16th, Happy Birthday!
I was a hugh fan of your Dad's from the beginning of his career in the late 50's.
I collected all of his records and literally wore them out playing them constantly.
I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl when he appeared with Dick Clark (I was just a kid). He left left us much too soon, but what an impact he did leave.

Connie Squire - 12/09/98 10:24:24
Well, Dodd, thanks to wonderful changes in the
world of technology, I feel privileged to be
able to communicate with the son of two of my
favourite stars from the sixties. Your mom's
character "Tammy" is one of my all time favourites
and I still hum the tune from the movie and it
always gives me a good feeling. Your dad's
"Mack the Knife" defined the character for me and
helped me discover Kurt Weill and "The Threepenny Opera". Bobby Darrin's version is the
definitive version as far as I'm concerned.
Have a great birthday!
Ellen Tambi - 12/09/98 03:34:27
I'm so happy I can communicate with you. I saw you on Channel 28 last night, and I "looked you up on the internet."
I love your dad's songs. I was young when they first came out. I remember hearing "Splish
Splash" on the radio. I loved it! I eagerly awaited all your dad's new songs after that. The song that is among my all-time favorites is "If I were a carpenter." The song and lyrics are just beautiful.
I'm sure there are lots of people like me who would like to hear more about your dad. That's why I was so happy to see the documentary, and see you on Channel 28. You seem like such a wonderful person. Bobby couldn't be prouder of you.
I think Entertainment Tonight should cover the opening of your new restaurant "Dream Car." Where is the restaurant going to be? I'd love to go there. I live in Los Angeles.
I read your book "Dream Lovers." Your mother is so sweet and beautiful. Please give her my love (from a fan she might not have known she had - me.)
I wish you and your mom and your family all the love and happiness in the world.
I am glad you are out there "perpetuating your dad's memory" as you said because I sure want his memory perpetuated!
Thank you for that.
My best wished and love.
Lois (Lolly) Stern - 12/09/98 00:33:36
Oops! Forgot to fill in my name on the previous message. Happy birthday again!

Happy birthday! I loved the PBS special on your dad. Watching his performances again brought back so many fond memories of when I was a little girl. My parents and I would watch your dad on our tiny 12 inch black and white television set! I will alway
cherish those memories as I do your father's music. Best wishes for a very happy and healthy holiday season to you and your family. God bless!
Sean Maher - 12/08/98 23:08:18
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DODD!!!!!!!!!!
I am a great fan of your Dad's and I hope that his memory will always live on a beautifull as it does in the web page. I would love the honor of being able to put together a tribute to your father on stage and I would love to contact you or have you cont
ct me. Please let me know how to make this possible.
Dalilah Hampton - 12/08/98 17:53:13
Hi Dodd, Happy Birthday! I heard that Johnny Depp was going to play your dad in a future film project and that would be great..but I cannot imagine an actress today that could play your mom. She is just so special..The actors of today are way too jaded...
Nikolas Lund (14) - 12/08/98 03:54:32
Happy birthday Mr. Darin!
I enjoyed your comments on the recent documentary of your father. It was a good, enlightening tribute to the great man he was.
Happy birthday again!

Happy Birthday Dodd... I'm a fan of your father
and I'm from Québec (Canada). I'm living at
Roberval, at about 160 miles norh of Québec city.
A VERY VERY GOOD DAY TO YOU ...
Cesar Morataya - 12/07/98 22:04:14
Happy birthday Dodd, I guess you're about my age (I'm 35) and I assume you're a bigger Bobby Darin fan than I am. I got hooked on Bobby Darin in El Salvador (my home country, though now I live in New Orleans) when I was a kid. We used to get the American
.V. shows late, sometimes a couple of years late. But I remember being a kid and watching Bobby Darin's shoulder-and-finger-snap routine on T.V. and going wild. That was a totally cool guy!!!!!!!!!
Beverly - 12/07/98 20:50:36
Happy Birthday to you. And many more. You look a lot like your dad and a lil like your mom. Two great people, I'm sure. Mack the Knife was one of my favorites as I was engaged to a guy back in the late 50's with the last name Mackie and we made that o
r song. Have a great life!
Kerrie Cappadonia - 12/07/98 18:28:06
Dodd, you rock!!!!!!!! Your parents were so talented and special. You are too!!!! Happy birthday.
Janet - 12/07/98 17:27:39
As I was growing up (I'm nearly 40 now!) I can recall watching your mom's movies on TV and just
loving them! I've become a big fan of your dad's music, too, through the films they made together. Thank you for the wonderful book on their lives together. Please send my best regards to your mom, and best wishes to you and your lovely family! Happy

Andrew Stein - 12/06/98 23:36:43
Your book touched me, and your appearances in "Beyond the Song" stand as a great tribute to your father's memory. Many more happy birthdays!

Happy Birthday,Dodd! Interesting to note your dad's birthday is close to mine (May 22) I taped the PBS special - then checked the web as I am
hungry for more info about this multi-talented
dad of yours. Ordered your book & will order the
CD collection. I am now addicted to Bobby Darin's music & life story. Congratulations!
Eleanor - 12/06/98 12:57:05
The PBS special on Bobby Darin's life was just the
most special program. Your father was a great talent. I did not realize that he left us at such a very young age. I wish you the greatest birthday ever, but you already have the best gift when you were born, two very special parents, Bobby Darin and Sa

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I FEEL REALLY BAD FOR LOSING YOUR DAD WHEN YOU WERE SO YOUNG. HE WAS YOUNGER THEN I AM. I'M 41 . I JUST LOST MY MOM LAST YEAR. SHE ALWAYS LOVED YOUR DAD SINGING SO MUCH. ESP. MACK THE KNIFE. I LOVE HIS SONGS BUT THAT WASN'T ONE OF MY FAV.T
ERE WAS A SHOW ON T.V. TONIGHT WITH YOU NARR. ABOUT YOUR DAD AND IT MADE ME FEEL SO GOOD. I GOT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIM AND GOT TO SEE HIS SON (YOU) AND YOUR DAUGHTER(SHE IS SO PRETTY). BUT IT REALLY MADE ME FEEL CLOSE TO MY MOM BECAUSE SHE LIKED HIM SO MU
