The estate of Bobby Darin enters 2017 with some important new additions brought on board to run business and creative affairs. Seth Berg (South Bay Music) will now manage the licensing of Bobby Darin’s music catalogue. Berg manages the estates of Nat King Cole and Peggy Lee, and oversees the licensing for the Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra catalogues. “I’ve been a Bobby Darin fan my whole life, so to have this opportunity to work with his remarkable legacy is beyond exciting.”

Owen Husney will manage marketing and publicity for “Team Darin.” Husney discovered the artist Prince, served as Sr. VP for Musicland/Sam Goody, and COO/General Manager of K-Tel International. “To represent the works of Bobby Darin, an American musical hero who accomplished so much in his short lifetime is nothing more than a labor of love.”

Dodd Darin, the son of the late singer, songwriter, actor and producer is thrilled with the new additions.

“I took my time in carefully selecting the team we now have in place and I’m confident that moving forward my Dad’s contributions to the entertainment world will be handled with the care and attention it so richly deserves.”

Dodd Darin also brings onboard Arthur E. Friedman as his producing partner on various biographical and documentary projects involving both Bobby Darin and the late Sandra Dee. Darin and Friedman’s relationship dates back to 1988, when the Darin movie went into development at Warner Bros. with Mr. Friedman as Executive Producer. The movie was ultimately made in 2004 as Beyond the Sea, produced, written, directed and starring Kevin Spacey. Mr. Friedman was also a producer.

Movie theater owner Friedman also produced Price of Glory, starring Jimmy Smits, and was an original investing partner with Circle Productions for Joel and Ethan Coen’s Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller’s Crossing and Barton Fink. He was also theatrical distribution consultant to Robert Redford and Barry Levinson.

Dedicated Bobby Darin aficionado Jimmy Scalia, the official Bobby Darin archivist for nineteen years, will continue his valuable work with “Team Darin.”

Also on board is the accounting entertainment firm Down to Earth Management led by its CEO Sharon C. Gilday, CPA.

With the success of the new hit musical Dream Lover at the Lyric Theater in Sydney, Australia, Dodd Darin sees a renewal of interest in the careers, music and era of his father and mother.

“This show finally got it right,” said Mr. Darin. “It’s got the emotion, drama, pathos, humor, excitement and of course the music of my parents’ lives. In Sydney it was a thrill for me to see sold out audiences laughing, crying and cheering for what is simply great entertainment. The show is brilliant and to me has the feel of Jersey Boys and Beautiful. It’s my sincere belief that the show will eventually go to Broadway and travel the world.”

One of the most exciting entertainers of all time, the multi-talented Bobby Darin was an inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner, multiple Grammy award winner and Grammy Life Time Achievement Award recipient. His hit records include Splish Splash, Dream Lover, Mack the Knife, Beyond the Sea, Things, If I Were a Carpenter and Simple Song of Freedom. His recordings have received numerous gold records. Sandra Dee, who was memorialized in the song, “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee” from Grease, was a number one female box-office star in the late ‘50s and 60’s. Her hits included Gidget, A Summer Place, Imitation of Life and Come September, where she met, fell in love and eloped with Bobby Darin.

Update 12/28/2016: REMEMBERING DEBBIE REYNOLDS . . .

We are truly shocked and saddened by the deaths of Carrie Fisher and now her mother, actress-singer Debbie Reynolds.

She was an incredible entertainer, an Academy Award nominee, as well as a humanitarian and film historian.

Bobby and Debbie were good friends and shared great affection for each other. They both appeared on each other's TV programs.

Bobby appeared on Debbie's special And Debbie Makes Six in January 1967. She was a guest on The Bobby Darin Amusement Company in August 1972.

Our hearts are with her son Todd Fisher, as well as the entire family and friends of Debbie and her daughter Carrie. Our deepest condolences go out to them at this heartbreaking time.

Be sure to check out Bobby's current TV schedule at TV- Guide!
