Happy Father's Day everybody.
While I didn't have a lot of time with my Dad, his influence and presence is still very much with me. I'm grateful for the time I did have with him. His still being such a palpable influence on me 46 years after his passing I attribute to two things. The first, is that he was truly a larger than life personality. Anyone who met him can attest to that. The second reason is certain relationships I've had over the years. I'm very grateful for the memories and insight that were shared with me by my mom, my grandmother Mary, my grandmother Nina, my Dad's family (especially my sweet Aunt Vee and Uncle Gary), and my beloved Colorado aunts. Now and then, even to this day, I'll find myself trying to impart a bit of wisdom, advice or inspiration to my own children and I realize in those moments that somehow it came from my Dad. It's in those times of reflection that I feel he has never really left. He did not live a long life but It's not the length of a man's life that is important but rather what imprint he leaves behind. I take comfort in God's word that I will one day see him again on the other side.
These are difficult and stressful times. Spread a little kindness around and try and have a bit of extra patience. Take good care of yourselves and those around you.
Wishing the best to you and yours.
