When in St. Louis Missouri, be sure to visit the Museum of Transportation and see the Bobby Darin Dream car. The "Dream Machine" is housed in building number 2 along with over 25 other trucks, bicycles, motorcycles and other historical vehicles. There is also a glass shrine by Bobby's car, which includes pictures of Bobby, album covers, a short biography and the letter Mr. Darin sent to the museum in 1970 when he donated the automobile to the organization.
As stated in the brochure for the museum:
"The fascinating items in the collection at the museum were considered revolutionary when first put in operation...they represent our relentless spirit to move ourselves and the fruits of our labor faster, more economically and in greater comfort and style."
The museum, which is part of the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation can be found at 3015 Barrett Station Road, phone 314-965-7998. There are also 10 other buildings of exhibits and a gift shop located there.
