Bobby Darin

The Flip Wilson Show

On Nov. 20, 1970, Bobby Darin guest starred on The Flip Wilson Show.

Darin and Flip were good friends. In Las Vegas during the 1960's, Bobby was instrumental in getting Flip to be his opening act. When Flip Wilson got his own NBC variety show, it was only fitting that Flip return the favor and have Bobby on his TV series. (Mr. Darin appeared a total of 5 times on Flip's show, four alone in the first season.)
The other guests on this episode included Ella Fitzgerald and Charlie Pride.

One highlight of the program featured Bobby playing "The Devil" to Flip's "Reverend Leroy".

Bobby also joined Flip and Charlie in a country and western medley which included "Wabash Cannonball" and "Smoke, Smoke,Smoke(That Cigarette)".

Five of Bobbys appearances (minus his musical solos) have appeared on the half hour versions of The Flip Wilson Show airing on TVLand.
Thanks to Jim Scalia for the video of this program.
