Bobby Darin

Laugh-In

In 1968, you could "bet your sweet bippy" it was a "Mod, Mod World" in "Beautiful Downtown Burbank" on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. Bobby Darin was a guest on this innovative NBC show on October 14, 1968 and fit right in with the rest of the cast in the craziness with his perfect comedic timing and flexibility, which was a futuristic view of his performances on his own variety program a few years later.

"NOW...Look That up in your Funk and Wagnalls!"

In a on-going black-out sketch, a love-struck Gladys Ormphby (Ruth Buzzi) kept walking on and interrupting a serious Mr. Darin as he tried to sing.

Bobby also joined the rest of the cast in a topical "Mod, Mod World" musical spotlight, "The Solution To Pollution."

One short sketch with regulars Dick Martin and Dave Madden featured Bobby as a irrate supervisor at a Polltaker convention.

"SIT DOWN WHACKER!!!!"

Other highlights included Bobby singing "Mack the Knife" with Arte Johnson in Russian, and joking around with regulars JoAnn Worley and Judy Carne.

"Rowan And Martin's Laugh-In" was last seen in syndication on the NICK-AT-NITE network in the late 1980's.

"Let's sock it to America, guys!!!"
