Bobby Darin Receives
The Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award!!!

"Once in a Lifetime ..."

"Best New Artist of 1959" GRAMMY winner Bobby Darin was a talented and dynamic performer who packed an enormous amount of talent, energy and excitement into a very versatile singing career that ended, tragically, too soon. Bobby was a special entertainer and his impact in the music industry lives on in his music.

It finally happened!!

Bobby was honored with a 2010 GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award!!

The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Academy recognized Bobby as a performer who, during his lifetime, “made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”

A formal acknowledgment was made during the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast,
held at Staples Center in Los Angeles on January 31, 2010 and broadcast live
at 8pm ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.

A special invitation-only ceremony was held on January 30, 2010. Bobby's son, Dodd Darin, accepted the award on behalf of his father.

Many thanks to all who contacted the Academy, over this long period of time, in an effort to get Bobby this award!

And a very special thank you to the late Harriet "Hesh" Wasser for believing in this dream!
