It was
the day of the final scene. We were all lined up next to the captured
GERMAN BUNKER. Ready to make our charge to take out the German bunker
across the field. Hidden from view was a special effects operator
talking on the walkie-talkie to the demolitions people. On Don Siegal's
"action" we started to take off. As Bobby passed the demolitions
expert, the expert yelled, "Hold it." Bobby thought he meant us,
so we all stopped with that. With that all the explosions started
to go off while we just stood there. It was about 10 am. That was
the end of shooting for that day!
