Bobby Darin honored

on American Music Awards

When Tony Orlando and Dawn (Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent-Wilson) accepted the American Music Award for "Favorite Pop Single" on February 19, 1974, Tony did not forget his hero, Bobby Darin, who had very recently passed away. Below is the group's acceptance speech in audio (with presenters Bobbie Gentry and songwriter Paul Williams.)

" I accept this award for my idol..in memory of Bobby Darin."
